Ambah O'Brien has just released her new Crazy Diamond Wrap pattern & we are pleased to offer yarn kits for this gorgeous design.
This stunning wrap combines a clean lace stitch with an easy diamond mosaic pattern and was designed in Louie & Lola Merino Singles.
The pattern will be available separately via Ambah O'Brien's Etsy and Ravelry stores, the link to which can be found here.
The graphic diamond motif is created with slipped stitches and only one colour is ever worked at one time - no stranding!
The pattern uses fingering weight yarn and best suits a high level of contrast between the main colour and contrast colour.
The pattern uses 1098m of fingering weight yarn for the main colour and 366m of a contrast colour.
The sample knit was in Louie & Lola Merino Singles, using Crema as the main colour and Russet as the contrast colour.
You will need a 3.75mm/US5 knitting needle or similar size in order to meet gauge. Needles can be purchased in our shop here.
Finished Wrap Dimensions:
- Top Edge: 89"/225cm
- Width: 20"/50cm
We have put together a number of Crazy Diamond Wrap Yarn Kits with colourway combination we believe would suit the design, offering a high level between the main and contrast colours, in order to maximise the effect of the mosaic pattern.
Each kit will include three skeins of the main colourway (MC) and one skein of a contrast colourway (CC) in our Merino Singles yarn base.
Each skein has a meterage of 366m / 100gm per skein and is comprised of 100% superwash merino, single ply, fingering weight yarn.
- Kit 1 - Crema (MC) & Cinder (CC)
- Kit 2 - Crema (MC) & Dark Knight (CC)
- Kit 3 - Crema (MC) & Tassie Pinot (CC)
- Kit 4 - First Frost (MC) & Blue Spruce (CC) - this is the kit I used for my test knit version
- Kit 5 - First Frost (MC) & Nessy (CC)
Please note the pattern will need to purchase separately via Ambah O'Brien's Ravelry or Etsy store which can be found here.
Kits are dyed to order and will ship within five days.
All yarns are hand dyed in small batches using professional quality acid dyes and heat set to ensure colours that will last.
Every effort has been made to remove any excess dye from the yarn, however a little may remain, particularly with dark and rich colours. It is therefore recommended to gently hand wash your hand dyed projects on their own, in cold water, with wool wash or a mild detergent.
