We are so proud of the knitting community for the overwhelming response and support to our little fundraiser.
As you know we teamed up with Sam and Olga from Thread & Maple and Designer Tracie Millar of the Grocery Girls, to run a fundraiser both in Australia and Canada for breast cancer research and awareness.
The proceeds from both our fundraisers came to $11,470 AUD with donations with the proceeds from the Australian fundraiser going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the Canadian donations going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, smashing our original $2K target.
The total raised in the Louie & Lola fundraiser was $8,791 AUD and in the Thread & Maple fundraiser, an impressive $2,510 CAD was raised.
Combined this brought the funds raised to $11,470 AUD / $10,700 CAD.
You can see our donation page on the National Breast Cancer Foundation website here.
This included both proceeds from our fundraiser giveaway (including our $5,000 x 2 dollar matching contribution), direct donations received on our NBCF Donation Page and $20 from the sale of all Go Pink Notions Clutch Bundles through the Louie & Lola website.
The Thread & Maple BCRF Donation Page can be found here.
We cannot thank you all enough for your support in raising awareness and funds for this very important cause.
With 1 in 7 women being diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime (and 1 in 726 men), breast cancer is something that we are all affected by, being the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
