Low Tide Sweater by Rachel Illsley: The Design
The pattern is available for separate purchase in the Unwind Knitwear Ravelry Store here.
This garment is worked top-down, mainly in the round. After the neckband, right and left saddle shoulders are worked flat. Stitches are then picked up along each side of each saddle shoulder piece to form the front and back of the garment. Short row shaping is worked where each saddle shoulder joins the neckband, to create a sloped shoulder and to maintain the curve of the neckband. A video tutorial is also available to guide you through this first section of the construction.
The garment is then worked in the round, with increases used to shape the sleeves, front and back. Once armscye depth is reached, sleeve stitches are put on hold, length is added to the back (if needed), then front and back are joined to form the body. Body and sleeves are each worked in the round. Throughout the garment, textured panels are worked down the front, back and sleeves.
The instructions for the textured pattern are available in written and charted formats.

It is important you swatch and achieve the pattern gauge, as this will affect yarn usage. Likewise, any pattern modifications such as additional body or sleeve length will affect yarn usage. Should you wish to purchase an additional skein/s to enable pattern modifications please don't hesitate to Contact Us.
Hand-dyed in small batches in Tasmania.
The beauty and nature of hand dyed yarn is that every skein is unique and individual. Even within the same dye batch variations between skeins can occur.
We therefore recommend alternating skeins within your projects to ensure an optimal finish and colour blending.
Please also ensure you buy enough yarn for your project at the time of purchase, as colours can vary between dye batches.
Our hand dyed yarns have been washed to remove excess dye, however some residual dye may remain, particularly in dark and saturated colourways.
It is recommended to gently hand wash your hand dyed projects in cold water.
Wool wash or a mild detergent may be used.
We recommend blocking and drying garments flat and not tumble drying.
