We are pleased to have collaborated with talented knitwear designer Vera Marcu of Vera Loves Knitting to three kit options for her fabulous new Homey Cardigan, designed in Louie & Lola Merino Possum DK.

The Homey Cardigan Sweater

Homey cardigan is that cardigan you reach for every time you need warmth and comfort. It is worked flat in one piece from the top down to allow for body and sleeve length customization to create the ideal garment for you.

After working short rows for shoulder shaping, the back piece is worked flat to the underarms. The fronts are picked up from the original cast on and worked flat to the underarms. From there, the fronts and back are joined and the rest of the body worked in one piece. The sleeves are worked in the round with subtle short row shaping, creating a comfortable upper arm fit that gently tapers to a 2x2 ribbed cuff. The button band is worked flat in 2x2 rib after picking up stitches on the edge of fronts and neck edge.

    Working with Hand Dyed Yarns

Hand-dyed in small batches in Tasmania.

The beauty and nature of hand dyed yarn is that every skein is unique and individual. Even within the same dye batch variations between skeins can occur.

We therefore recommend alternating skeins within your projects to ensure an optimal finish and colour blending.

Please also ensure you buy enough yarn for your project at the time of purchase, as colours can vary between dye batches.

    Care Instructions

Our hand dyed yarns have been washed to remove excess dye, however some residual dye may remain, particularly in dark and saturated colourways.

It is recommended to gently hand wash your hand dyed projects in cold water.

Wool wash or a mild detergent may be used.

We recommend blocking and drying garments flat and not tumble drying.
