We’re excited to let you know that our annual Knit for the Girls (KFTG) fundraiser, will be happening 23-30 October 2025, now in its fifth year! 🎉
Thanks to the generosity of the fibre arts community over the last four years, we've raised $120,000 AUD for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and a further $105,000 CAD for Breast Cancer Canada & North American Breast Cancer Foundation.
Breast cancer has touched nearly all of us—whether personally or through someone we love. Through this fundraiser, our fibre arts community can come together to support research that saves lives.

For 2025, we're teaming up once again with our Canadian friends, Thread & Maple and the Grocery Girls, for a global, online fundraiser in support of National Breast Cancer Foundation Australia (NBCF) and Breast Cancer Canada.

There will once again be an epic online fundraiser held on the NBCF fundraiser website, with hundreds of PINK yarns, project bags, tools & notions as prizes up for grabs for everyone who makes a donation of $5 or more during the online fundraiser.
This year, we've created a brand new sock-a-licious bundle featuring:

The bundle will be available in our online store at 12pm AEDT, Thursday 30th October for $199AUD, with $30AUD from the sale of each bundle going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation Australia.
We will also have some matching optional add-ons, including a new DPN/Circulars Cosy and Sidekick Pouch for notions that clips onto the bag!

We kicked off Knit for the Girls 2025 with a night of connection and crafting this week with a virtual knit knit 'Knit & Zoom for the Girls' hosted by Gayann of Fibremates,
Over 60 knitters joined us as we all wore pink, knitted pink and drank pink and enjoyed an informative presentation from the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) about their funding of breast cancer research and also being breast aware.
In particular they spoke about their 'AllClear' collaborative research accelerator program, a ground-breaking project with the goal to ultimately halve deaths from breast cancer by targeting breast cancer recurrence. You can learn more about 'AllClear' here.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and also to our sponsors who spoke about their Knit for the Girls items and donations.

The 2025 Australian KFTG fundraiser will be hosted on the NBCF website here, with a one week online fundraiser commencing 23 October.
When you make a donation of $5 or more you'll be in the running to share in $20,000 worth of prizes donated by our incredible sponsors.
There's over 60 prizes this year (35 daily prizes + 26 grand prizes)!!!
Every donation of $5+ you make equates to one entry. So the more donations you make, the more chances you have to win.
Daily Prizes:
Every day from 24-30 October we will randomly draw 5 x daily prize winners from the list of the previous day’s donors. Eg. On 24 October we will randomly draw 5 daily prize winners from the list of donations made on 23 October. To be in the running for all 35 daily prizes you'll need to make a donation of $5 or more each day throughout the fundraiser.
Grand Prizes:
On 31st October we will randomly draw 26 x Grand Prize winners from the list of ALL donations/entries made throughout the course of the fundraiser.
All donations made via the page will receive a tax deductible receipt from NBCF.
Knit for the Girls would not be possible without the support of our 75 incredible 'down under' sponsors.
Many of our sponsors are also releasing special edition colourways and items for this year's fundraiser, donating a portion of proceeds to KFTG.
You can check all the activity on our special KFTG Sponsors Activity Blog here.
