We’re excited to invite you to take part in the 2026 Australian Knit for the Girls (KFTG) breast cancer research fundraiser, happening in October 2026, now in its sixth year! 🎉

Thanks to the generosity of the fibre arts community, over the last five years we've raised $186,000 AUD for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and a further $146,000 CAD for Breast Cancer Canada & North American Breast Cancer Foundation, together with our fundraising partners Thread & Maple and Grocery Girls in Canada.

Breast cancer has touched nearly all of us—whether personally or through someone we love.

Through this fundraiser, our fibre arts community can come together to support research that saves lives.

From 24-31 October 2026 we'll host an official KFTG fundraiser on the National Breast Cancer Foundation website.

Everyone who makes a donation of $5 or more during the week will be entered into daily and grand prize raffle draws, to win one of dozens of fiber-tastic prizes - made possible with donations from sponsors like you! 

KFTG Australia raised over $66,000 in donations in 2025, thanks to an estimated $20,000 prizes donated by over 70 generous sponsors. There were over 60 incredible prizes won by donors.

We're now seeking donations of prizes for the 2026 online fundraiser - think yarns, project bags, patterns, notions, or handmade accessories - anything our passionate community would love (and especially if they are PINK).

We also invite you to consider undertaking additional KFTG fundraising activity through your business during October 2026.

This could include hosting a special pink themed fundraising event for your customers or designing a special limited edition KFTG colourway, pattern, knitting tool or bundle - and donating a portion of proceeds to the fundraiser.

This year, Knit for the Girls will feature exclusive designer + indie dyer collaborations with limited-edition colorways and original accessory patterns created especially for the fundraiser.
