Launching 1st October 2026, the Knit for the Girls 'Down Under' Pattern Collection brings together some of our beloved Australian knit & crochet designers and hand-dyers, in support of the Knit for the Girls breast cancer research fundraiser.
Discover six brand-new accessory patterns which have been designed in exclusive, pink-inspired colourways by some of our favourite 'down under' indie dyers, made exclusively for this year's collection.
Each pairing brings together a designer's vision and a dyer's palette — created by fibre artists who wanted to lend their craft to a cause that's touched so many of us.
Knit or crochet along with us this October — with 20% of every pattern and yarn sale being donated to the official Knit for the Girls breast cancer fundraiser, in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
All pattern and yarn kits will be available for purchase through the designers and dyers online shops from Thursday, 1st October.
In addition, a further four Canadian & US designer and dyers have collaborated with new designs & kits in support of Knit for the Girls in the Northern Hemisphere. You can check them all out here.
We also hope you can join us for a 'Knit & Zoom for the Girls' virtual knit event, to be held at 1pm AEDT, Sunday 25th October.
Meet the Shimmer Shawl, a KFTG 2026 collaboration between Ambah O'Brien and Terina Eastman of Love & Speckles.
The Shimmer Shawl is an easy-to-wear, shallow crescent-like shaped shawl with a modern aesthetic. Classic chevron patterning is reimagined here, with the design written for both Fingering & DK weight yarn.

Meet the Wildflowers Cowl, a KFTG 2026 collaboration between Tess Vandekolk of Fluff & Nonsense and Sarah O'Halloran of Bombed Yarns.
Designed as a one skein wonder, for either fingering or DK weight yarn, the Wildflowers Cowl is a mindful and beautiful design featuring simple lacework and twisted stitches to stunning effect.
The Wildflowers Cowl was designed in Bombed Yarns Dynamite 8ply & 4ply Sock, in the 'Miss Marples Full Briefs' colourway.
Meet the Susan Cowl, a KFTG 2026 collaboration between Shelley Husband Crochet & Susan Longman of Ash & Eve Designs.
A loop style DK weight cowl, which uses the Sunpop granny square pattern from Shelley Husband's Granny Square Garden book.

Meet the Achelois Scarf, a KFTG 2026 collaboration between Susanna Kaartinen of Sanna & Co. and Tess Vandekolk of Fluff & Nonsense.
This crescent shaped scarf is a beginner friendly one skein wonder. It features easy to memorise stitch patterns and the design looks great in both variegated and solid colours.
The Achelois Scarf was designed in Fluff & Nonsense Merino Silk Yak Singles in the Siren Song colourway.
Meet the Peony Socks, a KFTG 2026 collaboration between Helen Stewart of Curious Handmade and Sara Warwick of Daffodil Road Yarn + Fibre Co.
The Peony Socks are a calm, absorbing top down sock design, with just enough lace to hold your attention and plenty of easy rounds to carry you along. A twisted rib cuff and neat wedge toe complete the look.

Meet the Eleanor Cowl, a KFTG 2026 collaboration by Joy Clements of Crochet Road and Hannah Ginn of Circus Tonic Handmade.
The Eleanor Cowl is a seamless 'one skein wonder' crochet beauty, worked from the top down in the round.
