Welcome to the Louie & Lola Yarns 2026 Christmas Eve Cast On Box.

The Christmas Eve Cast On tradition is all about self-care: after weeks (or months) of rushing to hand make gifts for everyone else, this is a chance to finally cast on something just for yourself to enjoy on Christmas Eve.

It will be a limited edition, luxurious box for knitters and crochets which focuses on artisan, hand made yarns and quality treats.

Please note this is a pre-order item which will ship in early December.

Included in the box will be:

  • A three skein bespoke Louie & Lola Yarns festive yarn set (3 x 100g skeins) on your yarn base of choice.  You can expect a mixture of gently variegated and semi-solid colourways, designed to work as a cohesive set.  The colourways will be a surprise, but you can expect a rich & elegant Louie & Lola colour palette.
  • A Richmond Botanical Co. Artisan Christmas Candle.
  • A Haigh’s Milk Chocolate Christmas Bell.
  • A Tasmanian handcrafted timber Christmas decoration.
  • A Ravelry download code for a knit or crochet pattern suited to the yarn set. 
  • All beautifully gift boxed ready to put under the Christmas tree.

You can choose between the following four yarn bases:

  • Merino Fingering (100% Superwash Merino, 400m per 100g) x 3,
  • Gold Sparkle Sock (75% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon, 5% Gold Stellina Sparkle, 400m per 100g) x 3,
  • Gold Sparkle DK (75% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon, 5% Gold Stellina Sparkle, 212m per 100g) x 3, or
  • Nonsuperwash Silver Sparkle DK (75% 20.5 micron Nonsuperwash Merino, 20% Grade A Mulberry Silk, 5% Silver Stellina Sparkle, 212m per 100g) x 3.

Please purchase this box separately from any other items as it will be shipped as a stand-alone item.  If you purchase multiple Christmas Eve Cast On Boxes, we will contact you directly as additional shipping charges will apply for each additional box.

Working with Hand Dyed Yarns

Hand-dyed in small batches in Tasmania.

The beauty and nature of hand dyed yarn is that every skein is unique and individual. Even within the same dye batch variations between skeins can occur.

We therefore recommend alternating skeins within your projects to ensure an optimal finish and colour blending.

Please also ensure you buy enough yarn for your project at the time of purchase, as colours can vary between dye batches.

This yarn comes in a skein, it will need to be wound into a cake before knitting. You can do that yourself or have it done by us using our Cake Your Yarn service.
Care Instructions

Our hand dyed yarns have been washed to remove excess dye, however some residual dye may remain, particularly in dark and saturated colourways. 

It is recommended to gently hand wash your hand dyed projects in cold water.

Wool wash or a mild detergent may be used.

We recommend blocking and drying garments flat and not tumble drying.

Ready to Ship items will ship within 2-3 business days.

For Pre-Order or Dyed to Order items, please refer to the shipping timeframe advice as noted on the product listing above.  Any orders placed which include both ready-to-ship and pre-order items will be shipped together once the pre-order item is ready to be shipped.

We offer flat rate shipping and ship worldwide, except to the EU.

A local pick up option is also available from our Dye Studio Shop in Claude Road, Tasmania.

Shipping will be calculated at checkout.

All orders are sent with tracking using Australia Post. We offer both Parcel Post and Express Post options.

We are happy to combine shipping on orders. Please email us at hello@louieandlolayarns.com.au noting your Order Numbers and to request your shipping be combined.
