Knit your own Sanna & Co. Pepperberry Jumper in the original kits as used in the design by Susanna Kaartinen.
Please note our Pepperberry Kits will be dyed-to-order and will ship mid to late August 2026.
The Pepperberry Jumper, as the name suggests, was inspired by the Mountain Pepperberry plant, the foliage and the berries and flowers and is part of the Sanna & Co. Tasmania Collection.
Please note the pattern is available for separate purchase in the Sanna & Co. Ravelry store here.
Expansion Packs are available for those who purchased Pepperberry Jumper kits (Sizes 1-4) from Sanna & Co. at the Australian Sheep & Wool Show but wish to knit a larger size. They include the additional skeins as required to knit Sizes 5-10.
The Pepperberry Jumper is part of the Tasmania Collection by Susanna Kaartinen of Sanna & Co.
It is an elegant and feminine circular yoke garment with an all over stripe pattern that alternates stockinette stitch with textured slip and dip stitch patterns.
It is worked top down and in the round. The simple construction and changing stitch patterns make it an engaging but breezy knit.

SEAFARER SPORT (MILLED BY JOHN ARBON TEXTILES IN THE UK) - MAIN COLOURWAY
Fibre Content: 90% British Wool (Exmoor Blueface, Bluefaced Leicester, Devon Closewool and Romney) / 10% Mulberry Silk (non-superwash)
Meterage: 300 metres / 328 yards per 100g.
Gauge & Needles: John Arbon Textiles does not give a recommended needle/hook size for their yarns, as everyone’s gauge is subtly different. It is possible to achieve quite a wide range of gauges with this yarn. A tighter gauge (more sts per cm/inch) will create a denser fabric and a looser gauge (fewer sts) will create a drapier fabric. If you are substituting yarn for a pattern, we recommend comparing the meterage. If your yarn is within 25 metres of the given yarn per 100g then you should be able to happily get the correct gauge.
Characteristics: With Seafarer Sport, John Arbon Textiles set out to create a yarn with depth of tone and shine akin to sunlight glistening on breaking waves, yet durable enough to stand up to the elements. By blending trusty, durable, Devonian wool with luxurious silk we’ve designed a range which is equally suited to ethereal accessories and hardwearing garments alike. The Exmoor Blueface brings its wonderful springy nature to the blend, Bluefaced Leicester lends its outstandingly soft handle, whilst a dash of rustic Devon Closewool keeps those pills away, and Romney gives a beautiful woolly halo. Adding a dash of silk enhances the blend’s sheen and fine drape, creating something truly unique. A luxurious blend with a hardworking, unpretentious air. Anything you create will look opulent but also be tough enough to ensure long-lasting survival of your woollens – even socks for the hardiest of seafaring folk! The yarn has a worsted spun construction with a four-fold/strand construction.
POLWARTH FINGERING - CONTRAST COLOURWAYS
Fibre: 100% Non superwash Polwarth Wool (New Zealand grown & spun)
Meterage: 425m / weight 100gm
Gauge: 28sts x36 rows to 10cm using 2.75mm - 3.25mm needles.
Characteristics: 3 fold, woollen spun construction, with a lofty handle and good twist.
Hand-dyed in small batches in Tasmania.
The beauty and nature of hand dyed yarn is that every skein is unique and individual. Even within the same dye batch variations between skeins can occur.
We therefore recommend alternating skeins within your projects to ensure an optimal finish and colour blending.
Please also ensure you buy enough yarn for your project at the time of purchase, as colours can vary between dye batches.
Our yarns come twisted in a skein and will need to be wound into a cake before knitting. You can do that yourself or have it done by us using our Cake Your Yarn service.
Hand wash only as this kit uses only non-superwash yarn.
Our hand dyed yarns have been washed to remove excess dye, however some residual dye may remain, particularly in dark and saturated colourways.
It is recommended to gently hand wash your hand dyed projects in cold water.
Wool wash or a mild detergent may be used.
We recommend blocking and drying garments flat in the shade and not tumble drying.
Pepperberry Jumper Kits will be dyed to order with estimated shipping in mid-late August 2026.
Any orders placed which include both ready-to-ship and pre-order items will be shipped together once the pre-order item is ready to be shipped.
